Privacy Policy

ChannelMind ("we," "us," or "our") provides a growth analysis tool for YouTube creators. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up, we collect the email address and name associated with your Google account.

YouTube Channel Data

When you connect your YouTube channel, we access (via Google's YouTube API, using the permissions you explicitly grant):

  • Your channel's public information (name, description, subscriber count)
  • Your video titles, descriptions, thumbnails, publish dates, and public performance metrics (views, likes)

Video Files

If you upload a video file, or paste a link to one of your own YouTube videos, for deep analysis (audio, editing, hook analysis), we temporarily store that file to process it. The file is automatically deleted from our storage once analysis is complete. We do not retain your raw video files.

Analysis Data We Generate

Based on the above, we generate structured data specific to your channel: niche classification, thumbnail and title measurements, transcripts (from files you upload or link), and recommendations. This generated data is stored so you can view your history and track progress over time.

Competitor Data

If you choose to track competitor channels, we access and store publicly available data about those channels (titles, thumbnails, public metrics) — the same information visible to anyone on YouTube.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the core service: channel audits, video analysis, competitor comparisons, and recommendations
  • Generate the above using AI processing (see Section 3)
  • Improve the accuracy of our analysis over time
  • Communicate with you about your account or the service

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models beyond the processing described below.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

To provide our service, we share data with the following processors, solely to perform the functions described:

  • Google / YouTube API Services: to access your channel data with your authorization. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
  • Google Gemini API: video titles, descriptions, transcripts, and thumbnail images are sent to Google's Gemini AI models for analysis (e.g., detecting your channel's niche, generating recommendations). This is used to produce the results shown to you, not for advertising.
  • Supabase: our database and file storage provider, which hosts your account data and channel data securely.
  • Cloudflare R2: temporary storage for video files (uploaded or fetched from a linked video) while they're being processed — deleted immediately after analysis completes.
  • Vercel / Railway: our hosting providers, which run our application infrastructure.

4. Data Retention

  • Account and channel analysis data is retained as long as your account is active.
  • Video files — whether uploaded or fetched from a linked video — are deleted immediately after processing completes.
  • If you delete your account, we delete your associated data as described in our Data Deletion page.

5. Your Rights

You can:

  • Disconnect your YouTube channel at any time from within the app, which revokes our access to your Google data.
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data (see Data Deletion).

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), database-level access controls (Row Level Security), and rate limiting to prevent abuse. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

7. Children's Privacy

ChannelMind is intended for use by creators managing YouTube channels, not by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
